This is non-administrative material that provides historical documentation of the institution, it's buildings, policies, and meetings, as well as area information.

Various issues of newspapers from Appalachian areas in Kentucky and West Virginia, including Pike County Post, The Rutherford Times, some Appalachian News-Express, West Virginia Book Bank, and Troublesome Creek Times.

The University of Pikeville has had multiple newpapers and short run publications by students. This collection contains various newspapers produced by students of the institution, including but not limited to, The Record and Bear Facts.

The Pike County Historical Society Collection is composed of a wealth of materials on the history of Pike County. Included are ledgers, journals, historical scrapbooks, photographs, and records on a variety of a variety of historical and genealogical topics.

A copy of The Old Regular Baptist, 2(8), 1925; some pages and copies of pages from old Pikeville College catalogs; Founders' Week Activities book from 1932; The Record, 4(5) and 4(7), 1925, and a 1970 reprint of The Letcher County News, 1(1), 1905.

One zip disk containing manuscripts of Mountain County Cooking and Southern County Cooking, and articles written for the Appalachian News-Express, also three record boxes of material related to Appalachian education.
